Fun game, here are 5 random facts about me... • my favorite holiday is Halloween 🎃. • I played the cello for 8 years. • I grew up near Chicago, and lived in the city for 7 years before moving to the desert 🌵 . • When I was 6 I started a “business” called “Trixie’s Treats”, where I made and sold horse treats at 🐴 shows. • I love stories. I listen to podcasts and audiobooks for multiple hours everyday. • Your turn!
Evil. Most definitely. • I shoot a one piece recurve that has no shelf, no site window, no arrow rest. That’s why I have bandaids (and a few scars 😬 ) on the knuckle of my thumbs. My right hand acts as the shelf. My left hand draws the bow using a Mongolian thumb technique. • What else would you like to know about this style of archery? Comment your questions below 🏹 (footage shot by @ladyphotographic )
So the news is out - the film project @ladyphotographic and I were working on was a feature for @Instagram ! 🥳. • Since a lot of you are new to my account, I decided to open up questions on my instastory yesterday. • The most frequently asked question I received was “where are you from?”. • I grew up in Illinois, just outside of Chicago. After living in the city for 7 years, I decided to move to Arizona! 🌵 • I’m really curious to hear where everyone else is from. Let me know! 🙂
New Trick Shot! 🏹 • I had an idea to do a behind the head shot (jarmaki ) while jumping over a fence. Double challenging because it’s essentially a blind jump + a blind shot, and you have to time the stride of the horse, balance with your seat, and draw before the fence. • I slowed the speed down so that you can see the mechanics of the shot (listen for the hit 🎯 ). • In more important news, whose ready for Game of Thrones tonight?! 😜
WINTER. IS. HERE. I can’t believe tonight is the night! Game of Thrones is finally back!!! • This picture is actually a throwback to trying out the Dothraki stance on Caveo. I remember when I saw that scene, I got so excited, I just had to test it out the next day! Caveo never even flinched as I fumbled to figure out the best position. • Looking through these series of pictures was bittersweet. Such wonderful memories on a one in a million horse. We said goodbye to this incredible gentle giant last year. It was a very sad time, but as we’ve seen throughout Game of Thrones, the ones we love never truly leave us ❤️.
Just sitting on a sand pile with the funniest little pony 😆. I think @hartlakelane and I spend most of our time laughing at Poe’s little antics. • After making him work sooo hard (basically trotting and cantering a few circles over poles ), his reward is that he gets to go play on his big sand pile! • He lights up like a Christmas tree when we bring him over here. And he loves to stand up high enough to see what the neighbors are doing 😅.
When I relocated my art studio to Arizona 4 years ago, I was excited to meet the other local business owners. One of which was @watsonshatshop • I quickly fell in love with their custom hats, had a cowboy hat made specially for myself, and even borrowed a few fun hats for my first horse themed photoshoot (you can see some of those pics on their page! ). • It’s been exciting to watch them grow and expand these past four years! I highly recommend taking a trip to @watsonshatshop to check out their incredible custom designs for yourself. 🤠 • 📸: @ladyphotographic
People don’t always believe me when I say that I’m a better shot on a horse than on the ground. But it’s true. I’m not that great of a ground archer. • Maybe it’s because of the momentum. Or because I’m multitasking, I can’t overthink things. Or maybe it’s simply because I feel my strongest when I’m on a horse. Probably the last one.
Practicing the jump shot with Winsor 🐐🏹. • So excited because @ladyphotographic is driving out to Arizona today for a really fun film project! Our first stop is @alex_bauwens_art studio, to get video of my latest oil painting. • Then we’ll finish the day off at @the_friesian_experience_ ! We’re attempting to get video of a brand new trick! I don’t think this trick has been done before, so hopefully I can pull it off (archery pun intended ) 😜.
